Founded in 1794, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville is the flagship of a statewide university system that operates seven institutions of higher education. More than 27,000 students (undergraduate and graduate combined) are enrolled at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville where 8,300 faculty members and staff support more than 300 degree programs.

Central European University (CEU) is an internationally recognized institute of postgraduate education in the social sciences and humanities.
